Distance Spirit Week Feedback

Hi guys! before break, Spirit, PR, and Cps collaborated to produce a long distance spirit week. we'd appreciate any thoughts, comments, and feedback for both the online format and the spirit week theme as a whole. Some issues: - low senior turnout - issues with online submission - limited to instragram - class counts sent in late-couldn't post daily standings + New things: - featured staff spirit - 2023 went above and beyond and made their own graphics, worked to promo - most classes promoted in individual groups - people were able to showcase 2019-20 memories Thanks!

PR SIP Ideas

Spirit Challenge (dress up in Lynbrook gear) Shelter-in-Place Bingo Bracket (like the Coronavirus March Madness) Cooking Challenge Quarantine Fit (potentially in collaboration with Lookbook) Staff Video of staff sharing their messages with the students. Virtual athletics (basketball plays NBA 2K20) Athlete of the Week eSports So far for the spirit challenges, we are collaborating with Spirit as well as the Spirits and PRs of other schools to come up with (probably Friday weekly) challenges. We hope to make them on the easier side so as many people as possible can participate. These challenges are Instagram stories where people post a photo following a specific prompt (like wear Lynbrook gear!) and then tag @lynbrookasb with a hashtag (like #lynbrookspirit). The challenges we've done so far have had mixed results. #stayathome and #lynbrook spirit had 151 and 81 submissions each, while #washyourhands and #howto had around 20 cumulative responses (harder topics). We m...

Social Shelter In Place Ideas!

Hi ASB! We hope you guys are having a wonderful shelter in place. Here are our ideas! Virtual Fashion Show ASB and InDesign have come to an agreement that the "traditional fashion show" should be canceled due to uncertainty, lack of time to prepare, and hesitancy to host a large gathering of people We have potential alternatives based on the viability of designers finishing their designs at home Push back the traditional fashion show to late August/early September This would take away and event from Social next year (likely Welcome Back Dance) and make it so that there would likely be two fashion shows next year It would mean senior designers and models who have already gone to college would no longer be able to participate, although their pieces may still be featured Also, pushing back the InDesign fashion show means we set a precedent for rescheduling other club events (e.g Silsilay) as we can't offer preferential treatment to any group There would be no ...

ONLINE SPIRIT DAY EXTRAVAGANZA

Hey ASB! Spirit had 3 main ideas we discussed in class. Out of the 3, the one we built on most is the 3rd. 1. March Madness with online games: Signups and brackets to entertain students and determine the online game champion 2. Work with Social on Fashion Show Script (Ria+Ryan): Side/supporting project for Social 3. Online spirit week: honor lost events and boost morale by commemorating our year. Potential days include: Formal/prom day, club day (dress up like you're going to a club event or conference), Powerpuff/spirit day (dress up like it's Friday of farewell rally), senior day (wear red). Another potential idea for event 3 is to have students share favorite memories from the semester corresponding to a theme throughout the week, to correspond senior day with the release or senior video, and potentially to make the event a class competition. If you have any thoughts on these ideas or anything to expand please comment below! much love asb spirit

clink panel

CLINK :)) virtual senior panel: - ask students what questions they have for seniors - send a form to 2020 to see who would want to participate - select people from a variety of majors/colleges - get video clips from those people and put together a video like last year - potentially set up zoom interviews where underclassmen can ask seniors about college + apps - maybe section people by kind of major for more specific questions

Tech Shelter-in-Place Plans

Tech Shelter-in-Place Plans Hi ASB! Hope you are all doing well and staying inside and safe! Our plan for the next couple of weeks is listed below: Staff Full House Video We will be contacting staff to send short clips of them doing something random then waving to the camera and stitching it together to make a "Full House" theme song video (like the TikTok challenge). This video will be vertical (like TikTok) so that y'all can post it on Instagram and other platforms, and we can stream it as an IGTV video. We're planning to release it at the end of spring break (4/20) Staff Well-Wishing Video The staff is also being asked to send in a well-wishing video (from the staff to students) to keep up the Lynbrook spirit. This video is planned to be released by 5/8, but if we return to school by that date, we will not release the video. Merry Moments This will be a video compilation of students' favorite memories and highlights from this past year. PR...
